TRUCK DRIVER (CLASS 1/AZ)

JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

We are seeking a reliable and safety-focused Truck Driver to join our transportation team. The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe pickup, transportation, and delivery of goods to customers and distribution locations while ensuring compliance with all applicable Canadian transportation regulations and company policies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport finished goods and raw materials between manufacturing facilities, warehouses, customers, and distribution centers.
  • Verify shipment accuracy and ensure products are delivered in saleable condition.
  • Complete electronic or paper documentation accurately and timely.
  • Conduct pre-trip, en-route, and post-trip vehicle inspections.
  • Ensure compliance with all provincial and federal transportation regulations.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, fuel records, mileage reports, and delivery documentation.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch, customers, and logistics personnel regarding schedules and potential delays.
  • Secure cargo and inspect load stability throughout the route.
  • Load and unload freight as required.
  • Report vehicle defects, accidents, incidents, or regulatory violations immediately.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
  • Follow all company safety procedures and PPE requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Class 1 License (Western Canada) or AZ License (Ontario) with a clean driving record.
  • Air Brake (Z Endorsement) required where applicable.
  • Minimum 3 years of commercial driving experience – must be documented on insurance letterhead.
  • Strong knowledge of Canadian transportation and safety regulations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and overnight routes when required.
  • Ability to pass all pre-employment screening requirements, including background checks and drug/alcohol testing are permitted by law.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as Delivery Driver, proof of insurance coverage as a commercial driver

Physical Requirements:

Ability to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial vehicle. Frequent climbing, walking, bending, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs (23 kg). Ability to work in various weather and environmental conditions. Must be capable of safely performing all duties while wearing required PPE.
